nothin’ but the spunk

my first Torelli shoot today, bright and early on a sunday morning. Christian their product manager cruising the spunky hill twisties, ray driving support, and me shooting out of the back of a sportback with the hatch open.

i shot this same situation the day before with a friend so i was able to see that most of the shots came out blurry from the vibrations of the moving car. my remedy for the Torelli shoot? elbow on two couch pillows = less shake. why was there so much shake the day before? i had to slow the shutter speed down to 1/30 to get the motion of the road, mountains, and wheel spokes as we matched Christian’s speed. it had to be long enough to drag the shutter and get some background motion, but it was also long enough for the moving car to create camera shake.

anyways, the photos made it to their ads in Road Magazine and their newsletters so far. good stuff!

Holy shite, that’s a beautiful photo of the rider climbing.

(You photographed my brother’s wedding in Vegas and your site sucked me in–nice work!)
